In general, hemp is an almost all-rounder: it is not for nothing that the fibers and seeds of the hemp plant have been used for thousands of years - in the past for paper or building materials, today for ropes, cosmetics and textiles or as a food supplement and cooking oil.
Sustainable natural fiber with great potential
When it comes to sustainability, hemp is also second to none: It is one of the most sustainable raw materials for the production of textiles, mainly because up to 80% less water is required for its cultivation than for cotton. It grows quickly and thrives with almost no pesticides or herbicides and does not deplete the soil, but actually returns nutrients to it.
Hemp textiles and their advantages
The new bed linen collection from Mary Rose consists of 22% organic hemp and 78% organic cotton. This combines the robustness, durability and versatility of hemp with the softness of cotton. In addition, hemp textiles are resistant to moths and offer the highest protection against UV rays compared to other natural fibers.
Why you will still love your Mary Rose organic hemp bed linen: It absorbs moisture much better than cotton and has an anti-perspiration and anti-odor effect.
