GOTS

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world’s leading standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. It sets high environmental standards throughout the entire textile production chain while also defining the social criteria that must be met. Quality assurance is ensured through independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. You can see which of our home textiles are certified by looking for the GOTS symbol on the respective product pages or on the web label attached to the textile. The goal of this standard is to define requirements that ensure the sustainable production of textiles—from the sourcing of raw textile fibers through environmentally sound and socially responsible manufacturing to the labeling of the final products—thereby providing product safety for the end consumer. The standard thus covers the production, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trade, and distribution of all textiles, which must consist of at least 70% certified organic natural fibers. For example, yarns, fabrics, clothing, home textiles, and other products made from textile fibers can be certified.

Cradle to Cradle

Cradle to Cradle Certified® is one of the world’s most widely recognized seals of approval for the circular economy. The standard was developed by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and evaluates products not only based on individual characteristics but holistically—from the materials used to the production conditions. The goal is to design products so that they can remain either in a biological cycle (e.g., through composting) or in a technical cycle (e.g., through recycling), rather than becoming waste at the end of their useful life.

Our Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold products are made from organic cotton. From the fabric to the sewing thread to the woven and product labels, the materials were developed for the biological cycle and can be returned to nature without leaving any residue. The University of Innsbruck (2021) confirmed the biodegradability of our organic cotton fabric in laboratory tests. The material was completely biodegraded within 35 days. One exception is our Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold fitted sheet, as it contains 3% ROICA™ V550. This fiber is one of the most innovative on the market and is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Material Health Gold. The difference: Conventional spandex hardly degrades over centuries and increasingly breaks down into microplastic particles that remain in the environment. In addition, problematic chemicals and solvents are often used in its production. ROICA™ V550, on the other hand, has been proven to degrade under industrial composting conditions without releasing harmful substances. In this way, we consistently pursue our goal of developing circular products throughout our entire Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold lineup.

Fair Wear Foundation

Since 2016, we have been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving working conditions in the global textile and apparel industry. It helps member companies identify risks in their supply chains, implement improvements, and have their progress regularly reviewed. However, membership is not a product or factory certification and cannot guarantee a risk-free or harm-free supply chain. Fair Wear’s methodology focuses on our internal processes, including our purchasing practices, which directly impact working conditions.

Specifically, this includes, for example, safe workplaces, reasonable working hours, living wages, and opportunities for employees to file complaints. If, for instance, unpaid overtime or occupational safety and health deficiencies are identified, these issues are to be investigated jointly with the manufacturing facilities and addressed step by step.

Our progress is assessed as part of Fair Wear’s annual “Brand Performance Check” (BPC) through a structured review of our management systems and practices. This allows us to evaluate the extent to which our human rights due diligence and our sourcing practices are actually improving working conditions in our supply chain and protecting human rights. Our most recent “Brand Performance Check” was conducted in May 2026, and we received a “Leader” rating with a score of 76/100. amfori - Compliance with social standards

PAPTEX GmbH & Co KG (Mary Rose Wholesale) is a member of amforiand is therefore committed to the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct. This code of conduct covers 13 subject areas and is based on internationally recognized standards such as the ILO Core Labor Standards, the UN Charter of Human Rights, and the OECD Guidelines. The goal is to continuously improve working conditions in manufacturing facilities—including those outside Europe—and to promote statutory minimum standards. Compliance with the Code of Conduct is verified by external, independent auditing firms. Full audits take place every two years, supplemented by regular follow-up audits in areas where room for improvement has been identified. amfori BSCI is not a certification or a pass/fail system, but rather an approach to assessment and improvement. Each audit result reflects the current status of implementation of the Code of Conduct, not a final, guaranteed state. Therefore, even amfori membership cannot guarantee a supply chain that is completely free of risk or harm. It serves as a framework for continuous review and improvement.

The Ökoprofitenvironmental program aims to reduce operational emissions, conserve natural resources, increase eco-efficiency, and raise awareness of environmental issues and sustainability within the company.

Since 2024, our Dornbirn location has held the site-specific ÖKOPROFIT certification. This has enabled us to strengthen and refine our sustainability concept through technical and organizational measures, and it is continuously validated through regular compliance audits. By forming an internal environmental team, we also benefit from the input of our employees, whose environmental awareness has been heightened throughout the process.
