In contrast to today, it used to be customary to keep a product for its entire life cycle. High-quality goods were bought and treated as such. Even people on a budget bought good down fluff (the name for down at the time). This came and still comes from the Czech Republic, the so-called Pilsen down. After six to seven-7 years, the comforter would usually come back, be cut open, the contents washed, cleaned and packed into a new ticking. A tradition that could now be communicated as a waste avoidance and sustainability issue; we have been practicing this for 200 years now and have continued to do so without interruption.

In the 1970s, the Tyrler company purchased a new down cleaning machine. This machine is still in operation today and is preserved and maintained like the apple of our eye, as machines like this are no longer built today.

At the beginning of the millennium, down cleaning fell into oblivion and almost came to a complete standstill in 2010/2011. But we have continued this tradition and have seen a real boom in recent years...

Embroidery and monograms are also produced in our manufactory. This is also an old tradition - monograms and small markings used to be common on bed linen and terrycloth, as people didn't want to get their linen mixed up. 

We have revived this tradition as well and create embroidery and monograms using a state-of-the-art embroidery machine (also at the Mary Rose in Dornbirn). This allows us to create monograms for clubs, associations, hotels, and restaurants, as well as produce larger batches.
