Napkins
Napkins from Mary Rose
Cloth napkins combine functionality with stylish table settings. At Mary Rose, you’ll find napkins in a variety of materials, colors, and weaves—perfect for both everyday use and special occasions.
Many of our napkins are made of cotton or organic cotton and can be reused multiple times. Compared to disposable napkins, this can help reduce waste, provided the cloth napkins are used regularly and cared for properly.
Different certifications and production standards apply depending on the product. The material composition and certification for a specific napkin are listed directly on the respective product page. In addition, as part of our membership in the Fair Wear Foundation, we are committed to improving working conditions in textile supply chains.
Cloth napkins for versatile table settings
Our napkins can be paired with tablecloths, table runners, and placemats from our collection. Harmoniously coordinated colors create a calm overall look, while contrasting shades add subtle accents.
Cloth napkins are perfect for everyday breakfasts as well as for weddings, birthdays, or other festive occasions. Different folding techniques offer additional ways to personalize your table setting.
The classic Tafelspitz napkin fold looks simple and is suitable for many occasions. The lotus fold, on the other hand, adds a decorative, floral touch. Which fold is best depends on the size, material, and stiffness of the napkin in question.
Napkins in various materials and colors
The weave affects the appearance, feel, and dimensional stability of a napkin.
Percale
Percale is a tightly woven cotton fabric with a smooth, matte finish. Depending on the style, it is suitable for both everyday use and understated, elegant table settings.
Damask
Damask is characterized by woven patterns and a subtle interplay of matte and slightly lustrous surfaces. This makes the fabric particularly well-suited for classic and festive table settings.
Panama
Panama fabric has a clearly visible weave pattern and a more textured feel. Depending on the material and construction, this weave can be dimensionally stable and durable.
Our product line includes subtle shades such as mauve, anthracite, and silver-gray, as well as bolder colors like green, gold, and turquoise. You can find the currently available colors, sizes, and styles directly on each product page.
Some of our organic percale and organic Panama napkins are Cradle to Cradle Certified® GOLD. This independent product standard evaluates, among other things, material health, recyclability, water and soil management, renewable energy, and social criteria. The certification applies only to the specific product identified and to the components and processes specified in the certificate.
How to Care for Napkins Properly
The proper care depends on the material, color, and finish of each napkin. Therefore, always follow the instructions on the care label.
Depending on the model, our cloth napkins can be washed at temperatures up to 60 °C. Use a detergent suitable for the fabric and color. Please refer to the product-specific care instructions to determine whether bleach may be used, whether the napkin is dryer-safe, and at what temperature it can be ironed.
Care tailored to the product can help preserve its color, shape, and fabric texture for as long as possible. Reusable cloth napkins can be used for many cycles, provided they are properly cared for and not replaced prematurely.
