June 5 marks the annual International Environment Day, a day of action dedicated to environmental protection. It is intended to promote global ecological courage and raise awareness of the fact that it is primarily mankind itself that threatens the diversity and stability of the environment.
A careful and sustainable approach to our environment is, among other things, one of our core topics. However, as we are aiming for a holistic transformation which, in addition to climate protection and the careful production of raw materials, also relates to the human factor and the circular economy, we have once again decided to spend an entire month this year focusing on communicating our sustainable practices, dispelling prejudices and providing useful tips for consumers who want their purchases to be part of the solution and not the problem.
Sustainable, stylish, fair
At a time when the threat of climate change and environmental degradation is becoming ever more present, the desire to reduce our own CO2 footprint. However, consumers often find it difficult to change their purchasing behavior and opt forsustainable, fair and ecologically valuable products.
One of these reasons is the phenomenon of "greenwashing". It refers to marketing and PR strategies in which companies give the impression of being more environmentally friendly than they actually are. By cleverly placing green symbols, images and claims, companies try to polish up their own image and deliberately mislead consumers.
Certifications play an important role in combating greenwashing as they provide consumers with reliable guidance and can help to distinguish genuine sustainable products and companies from misleading or unreliable claims.
Foundations such as Cradle to Cradle, Fair Wear and GOTS create transparency and safety. Products bearing their labels have been manufactured under fair working conditions and are not only harmless to the environment, but can even be returned to the natural cycle, in the best case creating high-quality nutrients.
Investing in a better future
Another concern of many people who have not yet made a conscious decision to buy sustainably is the price of ecological products and the preconception that design and sustainability are mutually exclusive.
At Mary Rose and Tyrler, we stand for quality, timeless design and durable products that will save you money in the long term. Our textiles are made from high-quality materials and are characterized by careful processing. The result is a product that is more resistant to wear and tear and, with good care, can even be passed on to future generations.

And if the design is not timeless enough for you, or you already have your eye on another of our products, you can return your used bed linen, terry towels and waffle articles from the Mary Rose and Mary's brands to us from 01.06.2023. We will turn them into seat cushions, filling material or cleaning cloths, for example. When you return them, you will receive -10% off your next Mary Rose model.
